3. Massage Ubud's oldest SPA and still the most sublime. Homemade natural products, outdoor rooms, flower baths, experienced   masseurs some of whom have stayed for decades. Unique Sumatran technique About 10$/15$US hour massage /two hour treatment.

4. Dance "Bali Spirit" features most famous dancers yet is less commercial than the Palace. Variety programs on Tuesdays. Tickets about 5.50$US.

5. White Herons  land in the trees in Petulu Village at dusk (30 minutes by bicycle, 15 minutes by car from Ubud.) A few at first and then by the hundreds turning the trees  pure white. Sheer Joy! Free of charge.

6. Shuttle tours in endless combinations stop at four or five of Bali's long list of important spots, many of them sacred. Non guided half-day tours, sometimes air conditioned vans. Book at any travel shop one day ahead. About 5$US

7. Ceremonies and Festivals are ongoing thoughout the year such as processions, temple anniversaries, tooth filings, cremations, and lunar holidays. Visitors to Ubud are the likeliest to see the full pomp associted with these endangered traditions. Bargain for a 2$ sarong at Ubd Market to wear when you enter temples.
